Barcelona opens immersive Gaudí exhibition featuring unbuilt projects

The immersive exhibition ‘Código Gaudí, la experiencia inédita’ has opened at Espai Imagina in Barcelona. Organized by Mediapro Xperiences and the Cátedra Gaudí of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the showcase aims to move beyond traditional biographical displays to explore the underlying creative system—geometry, functionality, and symbolism—that defines Antoni Gaudí’s work.

Utilizing advanced technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality, the exhibition allows visitors to experience architectural designs that were never physically constructed. Key highlights include a virtual reconstruction of the Hotel Attraction in New York, originally conceived in 1908, and various other unbuilt projects such as a fountain for Plaça de Catalunya and a nymph for the University of Barcelona.

The exhibition combines academic rigor, led by scientific curator Galdric Santana, with large-scale audiovisual installations to make complex architectural concepts accessible to the general public.
