Borsa İstanbul BIST 100 index surpasses 14,000 points

Borsa İstanbul's BIST 100 index has shown significant movement, recently surpassing the 14,000-point threshold. In a notable daily session, the index rose by 2.96 percent to close at 14,110.14 points, marking its strongest daily increase since June 15. This surge was supported by a 4.19 percent rise in the banking sector, while the food and beverage sector saw a decline of 2.43 percent.

During an inflation report briefing at the Istanbul Finance Center, Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) Governor Fatih Karahan updated the year-end inflation forecast for 2026 to 28 percent. He further projected that inflation would decrease to 15 percent by the end of 2027 and to 9 percent by the end of 2028.

Market analysts are monitoring key technical levels, identifying 14,200 and 14,300 points as resistance levels, while 14,000 and 13,900 points serve as support. Global market trends, including US inflation data and geopolitical risks in the Middle East, continue to influence investor sentiment.
