Barendrecht and Hoorn roadworks disrupt traffic on Smitshoekse Baan and Provincialeweg

Heijmans is carrying out a series of upgrades on the Smitshoekse Baan in Barendrecht from 15 June to 21 August. The work, commissioned by the municipality, includes new surfacing, a sound‑reducing deck and marked detours for both cyclists and motor vehicles across six phased closures. Temporary bypasses are provided at key intersections, and emergency services retain access throughout the period.

The Hoorn municipality will replace the asphalt and repaint markings on the Provincialeweg near the Keern. Night‑time closures are scheduled for 17‑18 June (south side) and a weekend from 4‑6 July (north side). Drivers are diverted via designated routes, with limited lanes kept open for emergency responders. Both projects aim to improve safety and road durability after the construction phase.
