Indonesia law enforcement conducts various raids and seizures
Various law enforcement and administrative activities have been reported across Indonesia. In Sukoharjo, Central Java, Bareskrim Polri dismantled an illegal casino operating in a warehouse, resulting in 30 suspects and the seizure of approximately Rp1.04 billion in cash.
In Riau, police arrested two men suspected of illegal logging within the PT Arara Abadi concession area in Bengkalis. Meanwhile, in Bengkulu, authorities secured 40 hectares of the Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) core zone from illegal encroachment, detaining four suspects.
Economic and regulatory updates include the Ministry of Finance preparing new 'track and trace' technology to detect counterfeit excise stamps on cigarettes. In Surabaya, authorities destroyed over 43 million illegal cigarettes seized during the first half of 2026. Additionally, Bank Indonesia in Yogyakarta destroyed over 18,000 counterfeit Rupiah notes.
Other incidents include the arrest of four men in Sijunjung posing as journalists to extort a gas station, a stabbing in Tanjung Priok over parking disputes, and a theft of Rp150 million in gold in Lahat. In West Sumatra, officials are monitoring 51 tsunami early warning sirens, noting that two units are currently inactive.
