Bareskrim Polri uncovers subsidized LPG misuse in South Tangerang

The Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has uncovered a scheme involving the misuse of subsidized LPG in Parigi, South Tangerang. Authorities identified an illegal operation where contents from 3kg subsidized gas cylinders were transferred into non-subsidized 12kg and 50kg cylinders.

During the operation, investigators seized approximately 910 gas cylinders of various sizes, including 560 subsidized 3kg cylinders, 12 5kg cylinders, 318 12kg cylinders, and 20 50kg cylinders. Additional evidence seized included 35 regulators, four vehicles, and two scales.

One suspect, identified by the initials E or HB, has been named a suspect. The investigation revealed that the perpetrators intentionally chose a location near a highway to use vehicle noise and gas odors to mask their illegal activities from the local community.
