Synthetic tobacco production bust in South Tangerang

Overview

Jakarta police dismantled a home-based synthetic tobacco production operation in South Tangerang. Authorities seized 15 grams of synthetic material, valued at Rp21 million, which could be processed into enough liquid to produce approximately 900 grams to one kilogram of synthetic tobacco with an estimated market value of Rp1 billion.

Four suspects were arrested in the Bintaro Jaya and Pondok Aren areas, while one individual remains on the wanted list. Investigators noted that the synthetic material was purchased through an Instagram account and the resulting liquid was intended for sale at Rp500,000 per 5 milliliters.
