Bari and national partners invest €100,000 to turn confiscated assets into community hubs

The Metropolitan City of Bari has launched the “Accordi di Legalità” programme, allocating €100,000 to promote legality, transparency and active citizenship across its 41 municipalities. The initiative, signed with civil‑society groups Libera, Avviso Pubblico and Arci Bari‑Bat, will create territorial legal presences, a metropolitan observatory on legality, and programmes that reuse confiscated assets for youth‑focused training and community animation.

A related national project, “Officine Libere”, funded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies (Avviso 2/2025), seeks to transform confiscated goods and common assets into tools for social regeneration. The scheme emphasizes participatory co‑design, involving NGOs such as Fondazione Gruppo Abele, Nonna Roma ODV, and Arci Scuotivento, to foster inclusion, democratic participation and employment opportunities for young people throughout Italy.
