Bari reinstates €20 annual public‑transport pass and advances BRT Line Lilla construction

The Municipality of Bari has reactivated the "MUVTinBUS365" annual ticket, allowing residents, students and senior citizens to travel on all local public‑transport lines for €20 for a twelve‑month period. The real fare value is €250; the €230 subsidy is funded by the city’s POC Metro 2014‑2020 programme under council resolution 491 of 15 July. Applications opened on 28 July and will be accepted until 30 September 2026. Eligible users must validate the ticket via MUVT Card or the MUVT app within the first month and at every boarding, with penalties leading to cancellation. The ticket cannot be combined with other transport incentives and does not cover Park&Ride.

Separately, work on Bari’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line Lilla continues at pace. New works began on Via Cognetti and Corso Cavour, extending the previously active site on Via De Giosa. The line will link Parco Due Giugno with Piazza Moro and the central railway station, traversing several city streets. Construction includes asphalt removal, installation of a high‑performance membrane, red‑coloured road surfacing, and a new technologically equipped BRT shelter near the Chamber of Commerce, along with sidewalk upgrades. Traffic in the work zones is limited to a single lane, and further sections on Via Melo, Via Prospero Petroni and other streets will be completed in the coming weeks.
