Bari restores Falcone memorial mural after vandalism

Authorities and artists in Bari have restored a mural dedicated to Giovanni Falcone and the victims of the Capaci massacre in Parco Maugeri. The artwork, originally created in May, had recently been vandalized with graffiti and drawings on the depicted faces.

The restoration was carried out by the Sungre collective, including artists Gianfranco Susca and Noemi Mastrorillo, in coordination with the Municipality of Bari and the Associazione Nazionale Magistrati (ANM). Local official Nicola Grasso and ANM president Antonella Cafagna participated in the reopening, emphasizing the mural's role as a permanent symbol of civic memory and a stand against illegality.

Officials stated that the rapid response aimed to reaffirm the value of public spaces and to encourage citizens to respect and care for communal heritage.
