Barisan Nasional leaders signal confidence for Melaka state election

Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership has expressed confidence in securing a strong performance in the upcoming Melaka state election. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi suggested a potential ‘blue wave’ could emerge in Melaka, similar to previous political shifts seen in Johor and Negeri Sembilan, citing strong support among youth and voters.

Zahid has mandated Melaka BN Chairman and Chief Minister Ab Rauf Yusoh to negotiate strategic partnerships for the election. He emphasized the importance of selecting loyal, honest, and sincere partners to ensure victory. Zahid also urged the timely dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly to stabilize state politics.

Meanwhile, local leaders within UMNO and BN indicate readiness to compete in the election, even suggesting potential direct contests with the DAP despite their current roles within the Unity Government. Leaders noted that the party remains focused on maintaining momentum based on the current state administration's performance.
