Barão de Cocais completes MGC-262 highway paving and bypass

The paving and bypass construction of the MGC-262 highway in Barão de Cocais has been completed, creating an alternative route for heavy vehicles. This infrastructure project aims to divert mining traffic away from the urban perimeter, reducing noise, dust, and accident risks for residents.

The project, executed by the Department of Buildings and Roads of Minas Gerais (DER-MG), involved state investments of approximately R$ 140 million. The total work spans 28.5 kilometers, including a 24.6-kilometer connection between the municipalities of Caeté and Barão de Cocais and a 3.9-kilometer bypass within the local territory. Some mining companies are already utilizing the new route to transport goods to distribution centers and the Trindade Mineração territory.
