Ana Castela sparks political controversy at Barretos festival

The 71st Festa do Peão de Barretos has become a focal point for political tension and social media controversy. A photograph of singer Ana Castela posing with Federal Deputy Nikolas Ferreira, where both made hand gestures representing the number 22 (associated with the Liberal Party), sparked intense debate regarding the singer's political alignment.

The incident led to a public social media rift between Ana Castela and singer Pabllo Vittar, who unfollowed the sertanejo artist. Vittar later made comments on social media referencing the “L” gesture associated with supporters of President Lula, which many interpreted as a provocation.

Beyond celebrity disputes, the event saw direct political expressions. During a performance by Gusttavo Lima, live broadcasts captured the crowd chanting insults against President Lula. The festival, a major hub for the agribusiness sector, also featured speeches from political figures such as Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and Governor Tarcísio de Freitas.

Additionally, reports have highlighted the financial aspects of Ana Castela's upcoming performances, noting that a show in São Fidélis is being funded by a R$ 1 million parliamentary amendment requested by Deputy Dani Cunha (PL).
