Barry Morphew arrested following alleged hit-and-run
Barry Morphew, a murder suspect currently out on a $3 million bond for the first-degree murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, was arrested in Boulder, Colorado. The arrest follows an alleged hit-and-run incident in Denver on August 26.
According to court records, Morphew allegedly drove aggressively and struck two vehicles. A witness reported that during the interaction, Morphew refused to provide identification, claimed he had no insurance, and offered a driver $300 for vehicle damage. After the driver rejected the cash and stated she was calling the police, Morphew allegedly fled the scene, nearly striking another individual in the process.
Authorities determined Morphew violated his house arrest terms, which permit travel only for work, medical appointments, or legal matters. GPS data indicated he traveled to Denver International Airport, an action the district attorney’s office characterized as a breach of bond and an “extreme flight risk.”
