Barry Morphew bond increased to $10 million following hit-and-run charges

Prosecutors alleged that Morphew violated his bond on August 26 by traveling to Denver International Airport under a false work exception. Additionally, Morphew faces new traffic charges related to an alleged hit-and-run in Denver. Court records indicate he is charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, driving without a license, and failing to display proof of insurance.

Witnesses and video evidence reportedly show Morphew driving aggressively and striking two vehicles before fleeing the scene as a driver attempted to call the police. The judge cited Morphew's “capacity to commit new offenses while on bond” and a lack of “respect for the court” as primary reasons for the significant bond increase.
