Bart Foubert steps down as CEO of SK Beveren after six‑year tenure

Bart Foubert announced his departure as chief executive of Belgian football club SK Beveren, ending a six‑year spell that began in 2020 when he arrived as Operations Manager and later became COO and CEO. During his tenure the club was professionalised, adopted a financially sustainable model, deepened local community ties and achieved on‑field success, culminating in an unbeaten championship season and promotion to the Jupiler Pro League.

Foubert said the timing felt right, noting that the foundations had been laid and the club was stronger both on and off the pitch. His responsibilities will be taken over by Brandon De Clercq, the club’s CFO since 2020, who will now manage the non‑sport side of the organisation. SK Beveren president Jo Van Moer thanked Foubert for his vision, energy and commitment, describing the recent transformation as a source of pride.

The club also confirmed the continued loan of defender Yoni Gomis from Strasbourg for the upcoming season, but the primary focus of the announcement was the leadership change.
