Reggio Calabria health authority launches inter‑agency pediatric care pathway training
A training session was held on 19 June at the Taurianova Training Centre, organised by the Reggio Calabria health authority (ASP). The event, overseen by Dr Giovanni Calogero, brought together the cardiology unit of Polistena (led by Dr Carmelo Massimiliano Rao) and the paediatrics unit (led by Dr s s a Mariarosa Calafiore). Pediatric doctors and other health‑care staff participated as speakers and attendees.
The programme aimed to develop a multi‑agency Diagnostic‑Therapeutic Care Pathway (PDTA) for paediatric patients, promoting integration between specialties and improving the quality and continuity of care across the region. The ASP’s general director, Dr s s a Maddalena Berardi, highlighted the initiative’s role in strengthening local services and reducing patient migration to other regions.
The training underscores the authority’s commitment to continuous professional development and coordinated care models within the Italian National Health Service.
