Basilicata scholarships education funding Il Valore del Sapere student merit

The Basilicata region has approved scholarships for 1,209 meritorious students enrolled in the first or second year of upper secondary schools. This initiative is part of the fourth edition of the “Il Valore del Sapere” (The Value of Knowledge) public notice.

Out of 1,228 applications received, 19 were excluded due to non-compliance with requirements such as age or ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) criteria. The total financial resources allocated for this program amount to 1.2 million euros. Payment procedures were initiated by the Department of Economic Development, Labor, and Training on October 26, 2026.

Regional Councilor Francesco Cupparo stated that the investment aims to support merit, youth, and education to build a more competitive and inclusive Basilicata capable of retaining its young population.
