Basilicata hosts itinerant exhibition for Saint Francis of Assisi 800th anniversary

An itinerant exhibition titled ‘San Francesco d’Assisi – L’Italia e il suo Santo. 800 anni di fede, arte e devozione (1226–2026)’ is traveling across the Basilicata region in Italy. The project commemorates the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Organized and promoted by the association La Rete APS ETS, the exhibition is sponsored and funded by the Basilicata Region, allowing it to be offered to local communities free of charge. The initiative aims to reach various municipalities, parishes, associations, and religious or civil communities throughout the region rather than remaining in a single location.

The exhibition consists of 20 large-format thematic panels. These panels present an organic journey through the life and spiritual legacy of Saint Francis, covering topics such as his conversion, poverty, fraternity, peace, the stigmata, and his relationship with creation.
