Basilicata region meets 90% waiting‑time guarantee for specialist visits and diagnostics

The Osservatorio di Salutequità released a report using data from the national platform managed by Agenas, updated to June 2026. The analysis shows that Basilicata fulfilled the ministerial guarantee that at least 90 % of first specialist consultations and diagnostic examinations were delivered within the maximum waiting periods for the January‑May 2026 period.

Basilicata was one of only two Italian regions to reach the 90 % target for first visits (alongside Marche) and one of three for diagnostic exams (together with Veneto). The result reflects the 2026‑28 National Plan on Waiting Lists and new regional measures included in the Health Plan 2026‑2030, which aim to improve scheduling efficiency and transparency. Regional health assessor Cosimo Latronico said, “A result that rewards the effort of our health companies and operators on the ground.”
