Basilicata approves new pharmaceutical co-payment exemptions
The Basilicata Regional Council has approved new measures regarding pharmaceutical co-payments following discussions with the CGIL, CISL, and UIL trade unions. The decision, proposed by Health Councilor Cosimo Latronico, introduces improvements to the existing €2.50 per-prescription ticket system.
Key changes include a significant increase in income thresholds for the E05 regional exemption code. For single individuals, the limit rises from €8,000 to €15,000, while for those with a spouse, the limit increases from €11,000 to €22,000, with an additional €516 increment for each dependent child. The measure also covers workers under ordinary or extraordinary wage integration schemes.
Furthermore, a cap of 30 prescriptions per year has been established, beyond which the ticket will no longer be charged. This provision is temporary and scheduled to remain in effect until December 31, 2027. A monitoring phase will occur between October 16 and December 15 to evaluate the impact and determine if further adjustments are necessary.
