The income threshold for the E05 exemption category will nearly double, rising to €15,000 for single individuals and €22,000 for those with a spouse, plus an additional €516 for each dependent child. This exemption also extends to certain wage supplement scheme workers.
Furthermore, a cap of 30 prescriptions per year will be introduced for all citizens; the €2.50 co-payment will not apply to any prescriptions exceeding this limit. A monitoring phase is scheduled to occur between October 16 and December 15 to evaluate the impact and determine if further adjustments are necessary.
