Basketball playgrounds inaugurated in Pescara and Melito

New basketball playgrounds have been inaugurated in Melito and Pescara, marking a revitalization of local sports infrastructure.

In Pescara, a state-of-the-art outdoor court named after Vittorio Pomilio was opened in Florida Park. The facility was a project led by NBA player Simone Fontecchio to honor his grandfather, a prominent basketball player in the 1950s. Fontecchio described the playground as a gift to the city's youth, intended to foster inclusion and community through sport.

In Melito, former Virtus Melito coach Costantino Longo attended the inauguration of a new playground. Longo noted that the new facility represents the beginning of a relaunch for basketball in the entire area, providing a larger base for local players and enthusiasts.
