Baskonia targets former NBA center Christian Koloko

Baskonia is pursuing the signing of Christian Koloko, a 26-year-old Cameroonian center, to strengthen its interior presence. The club has reportedly extended a firm offer to the player, who recently became available after being released by the New Orleans Pelicans.

Koloko, who has previous NBA experience with teams including the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Atlanta Hawks, is highly valued for his defensive capabilities, rim protection, and physical presence. His arrival is seen as a priority for coach Paolo Galbiati following the departure of Alex Len, who rescinded his contract before debuting due to physical issues.

Beyond his defensive profile, Koloko’s nationality could provide Baskonia with greater roster flexibility in the Liga Endesa through the use of a Cotonou passport.
