Bassirou Diomaye Faye visits native village to honor local figures

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye visited his native village of Ndiandiaye in the Ndiaganiao commune to attend the third-day memorial ceremony for Demba Sène, a local teacher and political figure.

This loss follows the recent death of Diegane Faye, the former president of the Ndiaganiao rural council and uncle to the President, who passed away just twenty days prior. Both the deceased men were noted as political companions of the President’s father. The families of the deceased reside in neighboring houses within the village. During the visit, the President expressed solidarity with the grieving families and the wider community, emphasizing his connection to his roots and local social ties.
