Bastia Umbra library joins national network to combat gender violence

The Alberto La Volpe Municipal Library in Bastia Umbra has officially joined ‘i Rifugi’, a national network designed to combat gender-based violence. It is the first library in the Umbria region to join this initiative.

The project is promoted by the publisher Settenove in collaboration with Percorso Donna APS, supported by the Giulia Cecchettin Foundation, and realized under the patronage of the Italian Library Association. The decision to join was made through the Bastia Umbra Equal Opportunities Table to strengthen local tools for prevention, information, and opposition to violence against women.

Local Councilor Elisa Zocchetti stated that the library will serve as a second local outpost to intercept difficult situations in an inclusive and accessible daily environment, working in synergy with the town’s existing listening points and services.
