Batajnica Air Base security breach filmed by YouTubers

Two Austrian YouTubers from the channel ‘Roofless TV’ have sparked security concerns after filming an unauthorized entry into the ‘Colonel-pilot Milenko Pavlović’ military airbase in Batajnica, Serbia. The footage, which has garnered over half a million views, shows the individuals moving through the fenced military complex, filming decommissioned aircraft from both the outside and inside, and even capturing the landing of an active plane.

The creators, who describe their style as ‘Indiana Jones-like’ urban exploration, claimed they did not encounter any military personnel or security staff during their time within the protected area. This lack of detection has raised questions regarding the readiness and functioning of the base's security protocols.

Serbian authorities, including the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have not yet responded to inquiries regarding whether they were aware of the intrusion or if the filming was permitted. The incident has also drawn political criticism in Belgrade, with some officials questioning the transparency and security management of the military facility.
