Batajnica Air Base security breach incident

Two Austrian YouTubers from the channel ‘Roofless TV’ sparked security concerns after filming an unauthorized entry into the ‘Colonel-pilot Milenko Pavlović’ military airbase in Batajnica, Serbia. The footage showed the individuals moving through the fenced complex, filming decommissioned aircraft and the landing of an active plane. The creators claimed they did not encounter any military personnel or security staff, raising questions regarding the base’s security protocols.

The Serbian Ministry of Defence later denied that the operational capabilities or secure functioning of the Serbian Armed Forces were compromised. Officials clarified that the footage was recorded in a physically separated and partitioned section of the complex where no technical activities occur, noting that the area had been partially opened for civilian infrastructure projects.

The Ministry stated that the aircraft visible in the video were decommissioned and not in active use. While acknowledging the individuals entered a restricted area despite warning signs, the Ministry dismissed reports of a ‘raid on a military base’ as sensationalist, noting that criminal charges have been filed under the Serbian Criminal Code.
