Batam develops industrial zones and MSME export areas

BP Batam is advancing several major infrastructure and economic development projects in Batam. The agency is preparing an 80-hectare production and export zone for MSMEs, titled Batam Maju, to target markets in Singapore, the United States, and China. This zone will feature four production clusters: industrial components, processed seafood, consumer products, and electronics, alongside shared production facilities and logistics services.

Additionally, the Wiraraja Green Renewable Energy and Smart-Eco Industrial Park is set to begin construction in early 2027. The initial phase will cover 150 hectares on Galang Island and aims to integrate silica sand downstreaming with semiconductor ecosystems. This project is expected to create thousands of jobs and complement the Rempang Eco City development.

In healthcare, RSBP Batam received the Indonesia Excellent Hospital award, with Director Tanto Budiharto also receiving recognition for Outstanding Healthcare Leadership and Management Hospital.
