Crystal Temptations recalls Halloween candy over undeclared milk allergen
Crystal Temptations has issued a recall for its ‘Chocolatey Eyeballs’ Halloween candy due to an undeclared milk allergen. The product contains whey, which was not listed on the packaging, posing a potential life-threatening risk to individuals with milk allergies or severe sensitivities.
The recall was prompted by an investigation following a discovery by a TJX analyst. The error was attributed to a temporary breakdown in the production and packaging processes at Crystal Temptations.
The affected candy was distributed through Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post. In addition to Indiana, the distribution included Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, and Wyoming. Five specific package styles are included in the recall, ranging from 7-ounce acrylic boxes to 16-ounce designer plastic pouches.
