Battlefield 6 announces Top Gun collaboration for August 18

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have announced a major Top Gun collaboration for Battlefield 6, scheduled to launch on August 18. This update, part of the game’s Season 4, includes new gameplay modes, aircraft, and character skins inspired by the film franchise.

Key features include the introduction of two-seat fighter jets, the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre, designed for coordinated teamwork. Players can also adopt the likenesses of characters from Top Gun: Maverick, including Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, Lieutenant Robert “Bob” Floyd, and Admiral Solomon “Warlock” Bates, featuring voice work from Miles Teller, Lewis Pullman, and Charles Parnell.

New game modes include “Carrier Strike,” which focuses on large-scale naval and aerial combat to destroy enemy aircraft carriers, and “Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep,” an air-combat-focused mode. The update also marks the return of the classic Wake Island map, rebuilt to support modern combined-arms warfare across land, sea, and air.

Additionally, a free trial period will be available from August 18 to August 25, allowing players to experience the new content on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The update also introduces the Interdictor sniper rifle and new cosmetic items.
