Battlefield 6 Season 4 adds Top Gun crossover and naval warfare
Electronic Arts, DICE and Battlefield Studios announced that Season 4 of Battlefield 6 launches on 21 July 2026. The update is split into three phases. Phase 1, called Pacific Front, introduces the new Tsuru Reef map – the largest ever in the series – featuring a tropical archipelago, a luxury resort, a dormant volcano and a dynamic wave system that affects movement, visibility and weapon accuracy. Naval combat returns with new watercraft such as the RHIB and the CB90 patrol boat, and three new weapons (EF88 assault rifle, BROD 3 carbine and VSSM sniper rifle) are added.
Phase 2, arriving on 18 August, brings a major Top Gun: Maverick collaboration. Iconic aircraft including the F‑14 Tomcat and F/A‑18 Super Hornet are playable, and three characters from the film are voiced by their original actors. A new Carrier Strike mode pits ground, air and naval forces against each other to destroy an enemy carrier, while the classic Wake Island map is rebuilt for Battlefield 6 with a dedicated dog‑fighting mode.
Phase 3, slated for 15 September, concludes the season with a Tidal Strike event that adds challenges, a diver’s knife melee weapon and updates to the REDSEC battle‑royale mode. The developers describe the update as the biggest and most ambitious in the franchise’s history, blending cinematic Top Gun elements with expanded combined‑arms gameplay.
