Batu Pahat: Four men charged with murder of businessman

Four men have been charged in a Batu Pahat magistrate's court for the murder of 39-year-old businessman Low Kai Xian. The suspects, identified as Yogesvaran Subramaniam (40), Lim Yong Ming (26), Achuthan Nagarajan (32), and How Han Wei (33), were charged under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code.

The victim's body was discovered on August 3, wrapped in a net and floating in Sungai Tanjung Sembrong, Parit Raja. Low had been reported missing by his wife on July 29. Preliminary investigations suggest the murder may have been motivated by debt, and police believe the victim was strangled before his body was bound with adhesive tape and wrapped in netting.

No plea was recorded during the proceedings as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court. The court has scheduled a case mention for October 14, pending the arrival of post-mortem, DNA, CCTV, and mobile phone forensic reports. The accused were not granted bail.
