Murder charges in Malaysia

Overview

In August 2026, four men were charged in a Batu Pahat magistrate's court for the murder of 39-year-old businessman Low Kai Xian. The victim's body was found on August 3 in Sungai Tanjung Sembrong, having been reported missing in late July. Following this, in September 2026, four other men were charged in the Sungai Petani Magistrates' Court for the murder of 30-year-old Badaruddin Md. Nayan. The defendants, which included two brothers, were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and bail was denied for all individuals.
