Bauchi State police investigate fatal co-wife dispute

A woman has died in Bauchi State following an alleged attack by her co-wife. The deceased, identified as 43-year-old Jamila Adamu, was reportedly struck on the forehead with a pestle during a disagreement at the Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate.

Police reports indicate that the suspect, 33-year-old Hauwa’u Haruna, may have acted under hallucinations. Adamu was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi, where she was pronounced dead. The husband of the two women has been hospitalised after suffering trauma due to the incident.

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Haruna and recovered the pestle used in the attack. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.
