Bauska police detain two suspects in kidnapping and abuse case
Two individuals, born in 2001 and 2007, have been detained in connection with the kidnapping and physical abuse of a man born in 2002 in Bauska, Latvia. The incident, reportedly motivated by property disputes, occurred in late June.
According to the State Police, the victim was forcibly taken to an apartment where he was subjected to several hours of physical violence. He was subsequently bound, had a bag placed over his head, and was transported in a car trunk to a forest area in the Bauska region, where further violence occurred before he was abandoned.
Following searches of the suspects' residences, police seized suspected narcotics for expert analysis. A criminal process has been initiated for kidnapping committed by an organized group, an offense that carries a potential prison sentence of three to twelve years.
