Kidnapping and abuse case in Bauska
Overview
Latvian authorities have detained two individuals, born in 2001 and 2007, in connection with the kidnapping and physical abuse of a man in Bauska. The incident, which reportedly stemmed from property disputes, occurred in late June.
According to the State Police, the victim was forcibly taken to an apartment and subjected to several hours of physical violence. He was then bound, had a bag placed over his head, and was transported in a car trunk to a forest area in the Bauska region, where further violence occurred before he was abandoned.
Following searches of the suspects' residences, police seized suspected narcotics for expert analysis. A criminal process has been initiated for kidnapping committed by an organized group, an offense that carries a potential prison sentence of three to twelve years.
