Latin American artists present social fashion and immersive installations

Various cultural and artistic events are taking place across Latin America, highlighting social issues, regional identity, and major installations.

In the Dominican Republic, designer Bautista Sierra presented his “Indigentes” collection at Trendy Fashion Week Elite. Using recycled materials and distressed textiles, the collection aims to humanize the experience of people living on the streets, emphasizing the message: “I am not a problem. I am a person.”

In Argentina, artist Marta Minujín is presenting her “Escultura de los Deseos” at the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino in Rosario. The 15-meter-tall inflatable, luminous installation allows the public to walk through it and whisper their wishes.

Other notable events include the “Vistiendo Raíces” fashion show in Jujuy to promote local textile identity, and the “Cartonaje” exhibition in Paraguay, which uses cardboard as a medium to honor artist Félix Toranzos. Additionally, the Museo de Arte Popular in Buenos Aires is hosting the 22nd Textile Art Salon, and Misiones is hosting the “Cartografías Sensibles” textile and performance exhibition.
