Germany weather: Heatwaves and incoming storms across regions

Various regions across Germany are experiencing shifting weather patterns, characterized by a mix of high temperatures, wind warnings, and incoming cold fronts.

In southern and western regions, including Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, temperatures have reached highs between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius. However, a cold front is expected to bring changes, including heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. In parts of Baden-Württemberg, wind gusts could reach up to 70 km/h, with potential for heavy rainfall of up to 15 liters per square meter in an hour.

Other areas, such as Thuringia and Leipzig, are seeing cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from 16 to 27 degrees Celsius. Forecasts indicate scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms moving through these regions, particularly in the late afternoon and evening. In Franconia, weather experts anticipate a period of clouds and rain followed by a return to warmer temperatures reaching up to 28 degrees Celsius.
