Bavarian districts launch volunteer recruitment and honor long‑service contributors

In Weißenburg‑Gunzenhausen, the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) began a six‑to‑eight‑week campaign to attract new supporting members. Teams wearing dark‑blue polo shirts identify themselves and explain how membership fees fund training, equipment and vehicles for volunteers. The BRK warned residents about fraudsters who may request cash donations in private homes.

At the Landratsamt Straubing‑Bogen, two employees were celebrated for 25 years of public‑service work—Dieter Faltermeier and Anita Brand—while Roswitha Rötzer and Christina Haslbeck were presented with retirement honors after long careers in administration, health services and youth work.

The Landratsamt Weilheim presented the Bavarian Minister President’s honor to five individuals—Marianne Bußjäger, Marianne and Franz Tafertshofer, and Rudolf Ottl—for several decades of voluntary activity in women’s gymnastics, traditional costume associations and mountain‑tracing clubs.
