Bavarian Farmers Association calls for stronger support at alpine pasture inspection

At the 79th Hauptalmbegehung of the Bavarian Alpine Farming Association (BBV) on 5 August in the Schönbergalmen near Lenggries, BBV President Günther Felßner warned that the future of alpine and mountain agriculture depends on better policy frameworks. He urged the federal and EU authorities to provide a strong GAP budget of at least €500 billion from 2028 and called for a practical overhaul of the Nature Restoration Regulation, including more realistic grazing rules and wolf management. Federal Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer and other political and agricultural representatives were expected to attend.

Earlier, on 25 May 2026, the BBV Bildungswerk in Schwaben organized a "Rad‑Tour de Flur" starting at the Engelhardmühle in Attenhofen. Around 80 cyclists rode four short routes through local farmland, guided by regional farmers who explained current agricultural practices and challenges. Kreisobmann Andreas Wöhrle and Kreisbäuerin Christiane Ade praised the high participation and highlighted the event’s role in fostering direct dialogue between agriculture and the public.
