Bavarian fire events: Altusried barn blaze causes €60 k damage, Kollbach fire brigade marks 150‑year anniversary

A barn in Altusried, Bavaria, was engulfed by fire late Saturday night. Sixty‑five firefighters from Altusried and Kimratshofen responded, but the structure and its contents were destroyed. No injuries were reported and the police estimate the damage at around €60,000. The cause of the blaze remains unknown and is being investigated by the Kriminalpolizei in Kempten.

In nearby Kollbach, the local fire brigade celebrated its 150th anniversary with a three‑day festival. The events featured a parade through the village, speeches by regional officials, and a wooden replica of a fire engine as a centerpiece. Over 200 guests, including the mayor of Petershausen and the district fire chief, attended the celebrations, which also honored the memory of the late firefighter Josef “Eisi” Strohmeier.
