Bavarian pharmacies to participate in Long Night of Vaccination

Approximately 75 pharmacies across Bavaria will participate in the fourth annual ‘Long Night of Vaccination’ (Lange Nacht des Impfens), a nationwide initiative organized by the Federal Association of Community Pharmacists (BVVA). The event provides access to influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations, which can be administered simultaneously. For those with statutory health insurance, these vaccinations are free of charge.

In addition to pharmacies, vaccinations are also available at medical practices and health departments. The Federal Ministry of Health has also declared an ‘Immunization Action Week’ from November 9 to 15.

Vaccinations are recommended for specific groups, including individuals aged 60 and older or those at risk for severe influenza, pregnant women, and certain professional groups. COVID-19 vaccinations are specifically recommended for individuals aged 75 and older, those at high risk for severe COVID-19, and residents or staff in nursing homes.
