Southwest Germany sees sunshine as rain moves in across north and east

The German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts a split pattern for early July 2026. In the southwest the weather will be sunny and dry, with temperatures reaching 24‑32 °C, while the north and east will experience cloud cover, scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms. Coastal areas are warned of strong gusts and localized heavy rain, with potential downpours of up to 15 L m⁻² per hour.

Temperatures elsewhere range from 19‑23 °C in the north to as high as 30 °C in the southwest by mid‑week. Nighttime lows will fall to 10‑16 °C. The forecast also notes that on the weekend, Bavaria will see a mix of sun and rain, with stronger storms expected in Ober‑ and Niederbayern.
