Bayamo honors radio professionals for career achievements

A recognition ceremony was held at the Plaza de la Patria in Bayamo to honor radio professionals for their contributions to the medium. The event, which also commemorated the centenary of Fidel Castro Ruz, highlighted the importance of radio in the digital age.

Among the honorees, Abel Giraldo Guerrero Castro, a program advisor for the provincial station CMKX, was awarded the ‘Maestro de Radialistas 2026’ distinction for his creativity and commitment to training new generations. Jesús Rodríguez Román, a producer for CMKX, received the Commemorative Seal for the centenary of Cuban Radio.

Additionally, Caridad Aguilar Rosabal, a program advisor for the provincial station, was named ‘Artista Demérito’ by the Institute of Information and Social Communication for her dedication to program quality and listener engagement.
