Bayer Leverkusen explores potential transfer of Karim Benzema

Reports indicate that Bayer Leverkusen has initiated contact with striker Karim Benzema to explore the possibility of a transfer. The 38-year-old Frenchman, who recently reached a mutual contract termination with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, is reportedly open to returning to European football and has expressed interest in the German club's project.

Benzema has reportedly sought information regarding the club from former teammates Moussa Diaby and Lucas Vázquez. While the interest appears concrete, significant financial obstacles remain, particularly concerning Benzema's previous salary levels at Al-Hilal.

Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has addressed the speculation, though specific details of his response regarding the club's transfer policy were noted as a clarification of their current direction.
