Bayerischer Rundfunk to end BR Schlager program in November

Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) has announced that its Schlagerwave program, BR Schlager, will cease broadcasting on November 9, earlier than the originally planned year-end conclusion. This decision is a result of the Reformstaatsvertrag.

In other regional broadcasting updates, the first nationwide DAB+ multiplex is expanding to the Linz/Rhein location via channel 5C. Hessischer Rundfunk is also addressing coverage gaps in the Rheingau and Marburg areas by broadcasting its DAB+ multiplex from Aulhausen-Kammerforst and Marburg. Additionally, Eifelradio has launched a new FM frequency in Prüm, and Radio WMW is expanding its technical reach through the Niederrhein/Duisburg/Essen ensemble.
