Florian Wirtz transfer rumors persist amid Liverpool struggles

Speculation regarding a potential return of Florian Wirtz to Germany has resurfaced following his difficult start at Liverpool. After joining the Premier League side from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025 for a fee reported to be around £116 million, the German international has struggled to replicate his previous form, recording limited goals and assists.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of Bayern Munich’s supervisory board, has addressed the rumors, stating that while a future move is not impossible, it is not currently on the club's agenda. He noted that Bayern possesses sufficient depth in Wirtz's position with players like Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Ismael Saibari, making an expensive new signing unnecessary at this time.

Despite the club's cautious stance, some reports suggest Bayern may consider Wirtz as a replacement if Michael Olise departs. Meanwhile, Spanish national team manager Luis de la Fuente has publicly praised Wirtz, expressing admiration for his playing style and noting that he would love to have the midfielder in the Spanish squad if he were eligible.
