Bayside Shakedown film launches major Japan-wide promotions

Promotional activities for the upcoming film ‘Bayside Shakedown N.E.W. Metropolis’ are launching across Japan ahead of its September 18, 2026, release. A major highlight is a large-scale, immersive escape game titled ‘JR East Escape Game: Bayside Shakedown - Race Through the Yamanote Line!’. Organized in collaboration with JR East, the National Police Agency, and the Metropolitan Police Department, the game runs from September 18 to December 13, 2026, along the Yamanote Line.

Participants act as detectives to solve crimes involving a group called ‘Pentagon’ using smartphone apps and mystery-solving kits. In a unique public-private partnership, the event aims to integrate crime prevention awareness into the entertainment experience, specifically targeting the prevention of special fraud through messages embedded in the game and transit advertisements.

Other promotional events include ‘Bayside Shakedown THE MUSEUM’ at Ginza Mitsukoshi, a massive advertisement takeover in Osaka’s Umeda district, and a special display of the iconic green mod coat on the ‘Nana-chan’ mannequin in Nagoya.
