Baznas implements water relief and economic development programs in Indonesia

The National Board of Zakat (Baznas) is implementing various social and economic initiatives in Indonesia. In Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Baznas RI and Baznas Kulon Progo distributed 48,000 liters of clean water to residents affected by drought, specifically targeting areas in Girimulyo District such as Sekaro, Giripurwo, and Krikil.

Simultaneously, Baznas is expanding its Zakat Community Development (ZCD) program in collaboration with the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN). This program utilizes zakat, infak, and sedekah funds to promote economic independence, reduce stunting, and strengthen family resilience. The ZCD program integrates economic empowerment with health, education, and social aspects to combat extreme poverty. To date, the program has distributed 1.391 billion IDR to 23 groups, with plans to expand coverage to 11 regencies/cities across eight provinces.
