BBC crime drama This City Is Ours renewed for third series

The BBC has commissioned a third series of the Liverpool-set crime drama ‘This City Is Ours’ ahead of the release of its second season. The production, created by Stephen Butchard, has seen significant viewership success, with the first series attracting an average of 6.3 million viewers.

Lead actor James Nelson-Joyce, who portrays Michael Kavanagh, has teased a dramatic conclusion to the upcoming second series. The new season follows characters who initially sought refuge in Spain before being drawn back into the criminal underworld of Liverpool. Nelson-Joyce described the series finale as ‘shocking’ and noted the character's ongoing struggle to balance personal relationships with criminal ambitions.
